What is 7-Hydroxymitragynine?

7-Hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) is a terpenoid indole alkaloid derived from the Kratom plant (Mitragyna Speciosa). First described in 1994, it is a natural product derived from mitragynine, a compound found in Kratom leaves. Acting as an oxidized derivative and active metabolite of mitragynine, 7-Hydroxymitragynine binds to receptors with greater potency than mitragynine, significantly contributing to its analgesic activity.
